‘Tis the Season to Sparkle by: Kelly Smith

The Holiday season is finally here, and we all know that “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.”  However, it can quickly turn into the most hectic.  Shopping for gifts, late night wrapping and baking all of those delicious Christmas cookies can quickly consume our time faster than those delicious cookies disappear.  Dressing up during the holidays should be a grand affair.  The holidays are the only season that you can get away with the glitz and glam that sequins and shiny baubles exemplify. Why not make a splash at your next holiday party?  Try some of these quick and easy (not to mention, inexpensive) ways to “up” your sparkle factor:

  • Metallic eye shadows/nail polishes
  • Body glitter
  • Bejeweled headbands
  • Sequined tanks
  • Mixed silver & gold bangles
  • Chandelier earrings
  • Glittered shoes/belts/clutches
  • Crystal costume jewelry
  • Rhinestone cuff bracelets
  • Metallic or glitter strappy heels/wedge heels
  • Bedazzled dresses
  • Glimmering clip-on hair strands
  • Velvet dressing in jewel tones
  • Fanciful feathers, with or without sparkle

Remember that the key to “sparkling in style” is by adding only one or two statement  pieces at a time.  You want to be sure to shine but not by means of competing with the Christmas tree. Cheers to a wonderful and fashionable holiday season to all
