Slippery Rock University introduces new MBA program

Slippery Rock University Rock Solid Education

To get ahead in business and climb the corporate ladder, an MBA is essential. That’s why SlipperyRockUniversity is launching the Master of Business Administration program and making it easily accessible through the Regional Learning Alliance (RLA) in CranberryTownship.

According to Dr. Kurt Schimmel., D.B.A. and Dean of the College of Business, Information and Social Sciences, “SlipperyRockUniversity has had a long-standing relationship with the RLA from the very beginning. RLA offers state-of-the-art facilities that are conveniently located off I-79-N and I-76 turnpike, making it convenient for students to attend evening classes after work.”

“Our innovative MBA program was designed with the busy, professional in mind,” continues Dr. Schimmel. “The program can be accelerated so that it can be completed in only one year or, if that is too intensive of a pace for some schedules, it can also be completed in two years.”

Courses are taught both online and in the classroom. The classes are offered on Tuesday or Thursday evenings (or both evenings for the accelerated program) from 6:00p.m.-8:30p.m. and implement the highly-successful “flipped-classroom” methodology where the students prepare with readings and lecture notes and then the classroom time is the opportunity to learn and gain experience directly from the professor.

Dr. Schimmel points out that “the faculty are cross-disciplinary, have achieved their doctorate and have real-life experience in the business-world, as well. Our ACBSP accreditation guarantees that our faculty is dedicated to teaching and achieving successful outcomes for our students. In addition to the broad-based, MBA we also offer concentrations in Marketing/Management and Accounting/Finance.”

“In addition,” said Dr. Schimmel, “SlipperyRockUniversity is state mandated to keep tuition cost-effective and so we can offer this program that is a high value and lower cost than other comparable programs.”

SlipperyRockUniversity also acknowledges that the busy professional with a bachelor’s degree has already been successful in school and so they do NOT require a GRE or GMAT for admission.
